Special School District Coordinator

Mrs. Renita Murphy

My name is Mrs. Renita Murphy, and I am the Special Education Coordinator responsible for Central Middle, North Middle, and East Middle Schools for this academic year. I look forward to collaborating with you as we work together to support our students and achieve our shared goals.

I am a graduate of Normandy High School and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. In 2008, I returned to St. Louis and obtained a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), specializing in Mild/Moderate Disabilities (K-12). In 2010, I completed an MAT with a focus on Severe Disabilities and earned a certification in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). In the fall of 2019, I earned an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership.

My professional experience began as a part-time ABA paraprofessional, progressing to a full-time paraprofessional position within the Special School District. I then served as a special education teacher for ten years, primarily with the Ritenour School District. Currently, I am in my fifth year as a Special Education Coordinator for the Hazelwood School District, where I have provided support to schools including Jamestown, Townsend, Armstrong, Grannemann, and Larimore.

I am honored to serve as your Special Education Coordinator for the 2025-2026 school year. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns. Open and effective communication is valued, and I encourage you to reach out whenever necessary. I look forward to a productive and successful year ahead.
